# Claude Code

> Add Trillion to Claude Code in your terminal with one command.

For Claude Code in your terminal. Claude Code keeps its own list on each computer, separate from your claude.ai account: do this once on each computer you use, and it covers every Claude account you use there, including several accounts a local proxy such as CLIProxyAPI switches between.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Terminal">
    On a Mac press Command and Space, type `Terminal` and press Return. On Windows open PowerShell.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste this line and press Return">
    It adds Trillion for every folder on this computer, then opens your browser to sign in.

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user trillion https://app.gettrillion.ai/mcp && claude mcp login trillion
    ```

    **If not:** "command not found: claude" means Claude Code is not installed on this computer. Install it from [claude.com/claude-code](https://claude.com/claude-code), then paste the line again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap your passkey in the browser">
    A Trillion page opens in your browser: tap your passkey and allow Claude Code.

    **When it worked:** Terminal says the sign-in worked.

    **If not:** if the browser did not open, start Claude Code by typing `claude`, then type `/mcp`, choose **trillion** and choose **Authenticate**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check it">
    Paste this and press Return.

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp list
    ```

    **When it worked:** a line that starts with `trillion` and says Connected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let Trillion run without asking">
    Open the file `~/.claude/settings.json` and add `"mcp__trillion"` to the list under `permissions`, `allow`, as below. Claude Code then uses every Trillion tool without asking you each time.

    ```json ~/.claude/settings.json theme={null}
    {
      "permissions": {
        "allow": ["mcp__trillion"]
      }
    }
    ```

    **Leave as it is:** everything else already in the file. Add the line to the `allow` list that is there, or add the `permissions` part if there is none.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask for something">
    Start Claude Code by typing `claude`, then ask in plain words, for example:

    ```text theme={null}
    Use Trillion to help me decide which bug to fix first.
    ```
  </Step>
</Steps>
